Achievements and goals of Islamic Revolution

The Islamic Revolution achieved victory due to the leadership of the late Imam Khomeini (RA) and the blood of the great martyrs and firm determination of Iranian nation



The Islamic Revolution achieved victory due to the leadership of the late Imam Khomeini (RA) and the blood of the great martyrs and firm determination of Iranian nation and it became so prominent and unique that no movement and revolutionary uprising can compete with it, since, the Islamic Revolution had very different goals and intentions. For example, if we compare the Islamic Revolution of Iran with two famous western revolutions (France and Russia), we can say that French revolution was for the sake of freedom and welfare and the Russian revolution was for the sake of justice and equality. But, the Islamic Revolution of Iran was for the sake of spirituality and God; it is the revolution of values. So, we can say that the French revolution is a mere political revolution and the Russian revolution is a completely economic revolution, but, the Islamic Revolution of Iran is a cultural and spiritual revolution.
The features of the Islamic Revolution of Iran:
The political thinkers have mentioned different features of the Islamic Revolution of Iran; some of the most important features are as follows:
1- Being Islamic
2- Relying on the strong popular support
3- Non-dependence on the hegemonic powers of the West and the East
4- The perfect leadership of the late Imam Khomeini (RA)
5- The speed of the Revolution in comparison with the other revolution in the world
6- Insisting on the determined goals and ideals, etc.

Goals:
The Islamic Revolution of Iran was launched in order to fulfill some sacred goals. The goals which were completely spiritual and value-based and according to the teachings and values of the pure sharia of Islam. Some of these goals are as follows:
1- Collapsing the bloodthirsty and unjust government of Pahlavi
2- Establishing the Islamic Revolution of Iran
3- Spreading values, laws and regulations of the pure religion of Islam
4- Eradicating the symbols of corruption and depravity
5- Preventing the colonialists from utilizing the country’s natural reserves
6- Supporting and encouraging the other Muslims and the oppressed nations of the world
The achievements of the Islamic Revolution of Iran
Knowing and evaluating a revolution is not possible without paying attention to its achievements and its importance is revealed more when we realize that the Islamic Revolution has a direct relationship with knowing its achievements. So, the most important achievements of the Islamic Revolution are considered here in five main pivots.
1- Political:
In terms of the domestic politics, the collapse of the 2500 year-old Shah regime is regarded as the most important event. Establishing the Islamic government, and founding the civil institutions based on the elections and direct votes of people, eliminating the dreaded and inhuman organizations such as SAVAK, determining and approving the Islamic Constitution, establishing the revolutionary and popular organizations and institutions such as Besij, Islamic Revolution Guard Corps, Mostazafan Foundation, Martyr Foundation, etc., making efforts to create and increase unity among Shia and Sunni, opposing the plots of the internal separatists and preserving the solidarity and territorial integrity in the crucial situation are counted as the most important achievements.
But, in terms of the foreign politics, opposing the unwanted imposed war is regarded as the most significant achievement. Revealing the real face of the colonist developed countries, not bowing to the sanctions and unjust economic restrictions, awakening the other Islamic nations to oppose the illegal Zionist regime, adopting the fundamental and logical stances on the upcoming challenges and crises, issuing the message of the Revolution to the other countries, and making them pay attention to their power and capital are counted as the most important achievements of the Revolution in the field of the foreign politics.
2- Defensive:
Institutionalizing the thought of defending the country when the aggressive enemies attack, designing and making military equipment by using the talents and abilities of domestic experts and innovators in the years of the imposed war, foiling the plots, and evil thoughts of enemies, guarding the borders of the country in the best possible way are regarded as the most important defensive achievements of the Islamic Revolution.
3- Economic:
Eliminating the corrupted economic enterprises based on usury in Shah regime, producing and exporting oil, making efforts to get rid of the single-product economy, developing and launching more economic enterprises, making efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in agriculture, constructing dams and controlling flood and developing hydroelectric power plants, developing the telecommunication network and gas even to the furthest villages, establishing cooperatives and supporting them with the aim of institutionalizing the group economic activities, controlling inflation and increase productivity, replacing the valueless industries with the youth’s intellectual power are regarded as the most important economic achievements of the Islamic Revolution.
4- Scientific:
Purging universities of the agents related to the Shah regime and western ideologies, developing universities quantitatively and qualitatively, making efforts to realize the unity between seminary and university, paying attention to the new and fundamental knowledge such as Nanotechnology and Biotechnology, witnessing the growth of women’s attendance at the scientific and research centers as well as keeping their dignity, systematizing the dispatching of students to abroad, promoting the level of gaining scientific ranks in the international Olympics, completing the cycle of nuclear fuel production on the laboratory scale, increasing the research credits in the scientific centers are regarded as a part of the most important scientific achievements of the Islamic Revolution.
5- Cultural:
Eliminating the symbols of social and moral corruption in Shah regime, purging the main cultural arenas (TV, radio, cinema, music, books, magazines, dailies) of corruption, reviving the dignity and identity of mosques as a place of spiritual refinement and self-perfection, declaring the value and worth of women far from western abnormalities, adopting the proper stances in face of the anti-cultural orientations throughout the world, directing the public attention towards the great potential of the Islamic-Iranian culture, developing the culture of self-sacrifice and martyrdom, reviving the Friday prayers, enjoining the good and forbidding the evil, are regarded as the prominent achievements of the Islamic Revolution in the domain of culture.
